Dielectric Substrates Modulate Patterns in Two-Dimensional Dipolar Materials
October 3, 2019
Applied Physics graduate student Ziwei Wang and faculty member Erik Luijten published a paper in Physical Review Letters, showing that 2D dipolar materials can exhibit a variety of tunable patterns when placed on substrates with specific dielectric properties. This is a computational prediction, which may guide future experimental realizations in which electric or magnetic dipolar particles are placed on metamaterial substrates.
