Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Vision Statement
The Applied Physics program is founded on the principles of collaboration and interdisciplinary research, and diversity in all forms is important for the success of the program.
Our community aims to build an environment where everyone can thrive, regardless of gender expression, gender identity, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnicity, race, religion or belief system, and all other personal and professional identities.
We will maintain awareness of barriers to diversity and actively work against these barriers by recruiting, retaining, and engaging with members of underrepresented and underserved communities.
We aim to be respectful and thoughtful in our engagement with each other’s worldviews and ideas.
We equally value academic achievements, personal development, and the overall well-being of our members.
We shall strive to promote these values and we will continue to adapt and build on them as needed by our members and the broader community.
